1: 1-7 The purpose and theme of proverbs is written.

1: 8-19 Avoid bad company.

*Pick your friends wisely.

1: 20-33 Be careful not to reject wisdom.

* Listen to your elders.

Chapter 2: Shows the moral benefits of having wisdom.

*Wisdom will keep your paths clear.

3: 1-20 Wisdom will make every area of your life better.

* Wisdom will make you prosper and give you peace.

3: 21-35 Wisdom involves kindness and righteousness .

*Talk the talk and WALK the walk.

Chapter 4: Wisdom is supreme.

*Wisdom IS security in life.

Chapter 5: Wisdom warns against adultury.

*Don't be a cheater!

6: 1-9 Wisdom warns against the futility of folley.

*Make smart choices.

6: 20-35 Wisdom warns against sexual immorality.

*Guard your eyes, ears, and mind.

Chapter 7: Wisdom warns about the enticing adulteress.

*Know where you are going.

Chapter 8: Wisdom's call is issued to all mankind.

*Wisdom IS wealth.

Chapter 9: Both wisdom and folley invite us to their homes.

Stradegy for effective living:

Begins with: God's wisdom = Respecting and appreciating who GOD is.  Reverence and awe in recognizing the almighty GOD.

Requires: Trusting GOD and his word.  Allowing his word to speak to each of us personally.  And we will be willing to obey GOD by acting on God's direction in daily devotions.

Result: Effective living = Experiencing what God can do for us when we him and him alone.
