Meet Our Mascot !

As you read this, please remember that Owldo is nocturnal.

Our youth group mascot's name is Owldo. Even though he is a plastic owl, he has had a very interesting and somewhat strange life.  From the beginning, things didn't go well for this strange owl.

Before he was born, his egg coincidentally fell off of a kitchen counter.  He was also the only owl who could spin his head in a complete circle, and all he ever wanted to be was a college mascot.  However, after an unpleasant interview with Bobby Knight, Owldo's disappointments forced him to turn to a life of crime!

One day Owldo's plans to steal eggs from a nest at New Horizons Community Church was foiled by the night...umm...day watchman.  The great chase was on while the Chicken Dance Song played in the background.  While Owldo appeared have the upper-hand, he encountered an obstacle that he could not overcome, the church dumpster.  As a result of this brief detour, Owldo was captured and sent to jail.

While Owldo is in jail, he meets a friend, Fred, who tells him about Jesus.  Fred tells Owldo that Jesus doesn't care about what he has done.  What Jesus really cares about is what he can do through him.  Then, Owldo knew that to gain his life, he would have to lose it!

Then, Owldo was called to go into mascot ministry!  He still hides, but now when he is caught he gives instead of taking.

I hope that you enjoyed the story of our youth group mascot!  I strongly reccomend watching the Owldo Movie!  To do this, just click on the link at the bottom of the page.
